[Bug 496263] New: Product Creator selects non-oss repo as the base when when oss and non-oss repos are used as source.
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=496263 Summary: Product Creator selects non-oss repo as the base when when oss and non-oss repos are used as source. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: deanjo@sasktel.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032600 SUSE/3.0.8-1.2 Firefox/3.0.8 Product Creator selects the non-oss repo as source when both oss and non-oss repos are enabled. Manually overriding what is base has no effect. It still wants to use the non-oss as base and as a result will gripe that source has no /boot directory. If you have tried to update to factory or the yast svn you would see that it COMPLETELY breaks yast in 11.1 it's entirety. Because of 11.2 NOT going to have KDE 3.5 in it or supported this should be fixed in 11.1 as many people are not going to be upgrading to it. This is not the first time that these bugs in Product Creator have been reported. Everytime it's a will fix in later release. I tried your patch, and it does not work. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In original report, you wrote that "Manually overriding what is base has no effect", so product with non-oss repo actually could not be built. Now, there is still a problem, but this is much less severe: current problem is that product creator may select non-oss repo as a base (by default), but this can be changed at that screen you see the base product selection. I admit this is still not ideal, but the logic of automatic selecting what is base repository is not straightforward, actually that automatic selection is just a helper. So: are you able (now, with your latest yast2-product-creator package) to select correct repository as a base manually? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
