[Bug 580445] New: No documentation on how to use preload and preload-kmps correctly
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=580445 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=580445#c0 Summary: No documentation on how to use preload and preload-kmps correctly Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: knikanth@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Development Blocker: --- No man page found in the package. Nor any pointer to the upstream URL. Its seemed to be doing more bad than good on my openSUSE 11.2 machine where the machine kept on doing I/O after boot on an instance. Found preload to be the culprit. Killing preload worked. rpm -qi says Preload lists files to load into the system cache. This shortens system boot time if used correctly. But no pointer to how to use it correctly, nor documentation to how it works. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
