https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213581 ------- Comment #5 from mfabian@novell.com 2006-10-19 08:17 MST ------- Yes, the new fontconfig was the problem. There are two subdirectories below /etc/fonts: /etc/fonts/conf.d /etc/fonts/conf.avail Although "conf.d" did already exist in openSUSE 10.1, nothing from that directory was used as none of the files in that directory started with a two digit number (see /etc/fonts/conf.d/README). Therefore this directory was omitted in instsys. But now this directory has become important and cannot be omitted anymore. The new fontconfig puts lots of files starting with two digit numbers into that directory. The original files without the two digit number-prefixes are in /etc/fonts/conf.avail, they are symlinked to numbered files in /etc/fonts/conf.d which are then read in the order of the numbers. I also adapted our SuSE setup of fontconfig to that scheme, i.e. the /etc/fonts/suse*conf files are now also symlinked into conf.d with appropriate number-prefixes. Because /etc/fonts/conf.{d,avail} were missing in instsys, most of the setup files for fontconfig were not read. Because of this, the font "Khmer OS System" was selected for English which is a very bad choice. "Khmer OS System" is much smaller than "DejaVu Sans" when the same pixelsize is selected. Steffen just added /etc/fonts/conf.{d,avail} to instsys which should fix the problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
