[Bug 221152] New: Keyboard input and mouse selections not possible
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=221152 Summary: Keyboard input and mouse selections not possible Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: novell@4fly.de QAContact: qa@suse.de After booting, the kdm login worked as usual. No problems entering username and password. KDE also took the usual time to fire up. Firefox: I started firefox with a click in my shortcut-bar and this also started. But then, when I wanted to enter an URL in the navigation bar I wasn't able to enter any text or for that matter even select the previous (ctrl-a). Also when trying to select a link from the favorites menu, the mouse would move like it should, but randomly select a field it was hovering over, causing me to create various new entries. Konqueror: At first I thought this behavior was because of a crashed firefox and not system related, but konqueror also was behaving erratic in the same manner as firefox. Kontrollbar: After also having trouble with Konqueror I decided I was time for a reboot. Selecting a "reboot" in the Kontrollbar (Kontrollleiste) was almost not possible as this erratic behavior of randomly selecting fields the mouse was hovering over was selecting anything but the reboot I intended. I think somehow the entire input system during the KDE session was messed up. Why a login through kdm didn't show the same, I don't know. After rebooting the problem disappeared. It has been the first time on this installation, which has been running ever since Nov. 4th and was updated to Beta2 on Nov 11th. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=221152 ------- Comment #5 from novell@4fly.de 2006-11-15 14:44 MST ------- No I haven't been able to reproduce the error. I've also not been able to locate anything in the log files. This happend only one time.
