https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=641904 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=641904#c0 Summary: Sudden freeze/segfault of X e.g. when opening a website Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sven.burmeister@gmx.net QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=391545) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=391545) xorg log User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 SUSE/3.6.10-0.3.1 Firefox/3.6.10 I get almost random freezes of X, i.e. nothing moves anymore. It happens most often while using firefox, e.g. when restoring a tab-session or opening a new tab. It's not though that some site will always trigger this. I tried nomodeset and it did not help. Neither disabling flash seems to help. I just installed the X debuginfo packages so the next segfault will hopefully give me a better backtrace. Also try boot option 'nomodeset' to disable KMS.
Just saw, that you already tried that. Anyway, no freeze with the new packages since two weeks. Apparently the issue has been fixed. :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
