[Bug 296866] New: Internet connectivity problem via Linksys WRT54G-EU v. 7 and / or IPCop operated gateway.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=296866 Summary: Internet connectivity problem via Linksys WRT54G-EU v.7 and / or IPCop operated gateway. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Ojars.Krumins@kc.lv QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner This is the problem appearing in v.10.2 and was not in 10.1. (Not tested with 10.3 while it is not in final release) It is impossible to access the network (internet) behind a router / gateway. I have noticed two cases, a IPCop based router do not accept packets from workstation with openSUSE 10.2. More - this router is similar to "black hole" so no errors or denies are logged. In second case, a internet gateway Linksys WRT54G with firmware 7.00.4 is in network. A laptop with Suse 10.2 can get an IP with correct parameters from DHCP server located on router. But can not access other computers in network. For better understanding - laptop wireless get address 192.168.1.113. It can ping the routerbox with its address 192.168.1.1, but from that 1.1 I cannot ping the 113 because I get no response. A local firewall on SuSE is turned off. It is similar with IPCop also. I know, that both routers are performing fine, while i have no trouble accessing internet from other computers with other OS. Sad thing is, that I can not identify what exactly is the cause of the problem. It seem to be somewhere inside networking code that is over driver, while problem is NIC driver independent. Also a note - knetworkmanager crash after I try to set up the wireless network - mean, after click on access point field. It crash 4 times of 5. And very often it show incorrect name of access point. Correct appear only after a while. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
