I can change from X to text mode and swich between sessions, when i try to login, the session hangs. i can reboot using Alt-SysReq S U B when i run from the commandline rpm -v '--root' '/' '--dbpath' '/var/lib/rpm' '-U' '--percent' '--nodeps' '--' '/var/adm/mount/AP_0x00000325/i586/kdelibs3-3.5.7-79.2.i586.rpm' the command ends in : %% 70.839309 %% 70.979086 %% 71.047987 Segmentation fault but the system is still responsive, when i remove the --nodeps no output is generated the system hangs. opposed to what the logfile seems to imply. I did rpm --rebuilddb beforehand.
