It seems to be related to Oxygen style. When, as root, GUI style in qtconfig is set as Oxygen and in kde4 system settings for mouse, 'single click to open files' setting is selected, merely clicking a repository in the repository manager (Qt) changes the 'enabled' state of the entry. This behavior stops for me if I change the kde4 mouse setting to 'double click to open files' or if I select a different GUI style like 'plastique' in qtconfig. I am using kde3, so I did not experience this before. I myself prefer the double click setting. I am not a developer though so I guess we will have to wait till someone comes by and fixes this. You do not need to logout and login as root to change these settings. Use su/sudo. 'sudo qtconfig' or 'sudo systemsettings'. You should not need the full KDE4 desktop to be installed. You need only the keyboard and mouse module to be present in the kde4 system settings.
