aticonfig --query-monitor Error: option --query-monitor is not supported when RandR 1.2 is enabled! However disabling xrandr in xorg.conf by the following line has no effect: Section "ServerFlags" ... Option "RandR" "false" EndSection

No, this driver has its own options to disable/enable RANDR 1.2 support. Unfortunately not documented at all AFAIK. Again, complain to ATI.
