[Bug 841718] New: KDE swapped screen relationships between my laptop display and external monitor
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841718 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841718#c0 Summary: KDE swapped screen relationships between my laptop display and external monitor Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: ingham@i-pi.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 In 12.3, my external monitor was configured to be left of the laptop monitor (or, laptop monitor is right of external display). After installing 13.1 beta, the external monitor was logically right of the laptop display but physically left of it. A bit confusing at first. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have laptop display configured right of external monitor in KDE 12.3 2. install 13.1 beta 1 3. Actual Results: laptop display is logically left of external monitor now This was obviously relatively straightforward to reset once I realized what had happened. I can imagine users being surprised when they upgrade though. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The later is more flexible and offers a nice Systemsettings module where you can setup the monitor as you want. With KScreen you can connect different monitors, projectors, etc and it will remember the settings for each one of them. For more information, see: http://www.afiestas.org/kscreen-1-0-released/ As Kscreen is new and different, we cannot provide any upgrade tools that converts existing setups to the new one. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
