[Bug 294269] New: intel driver not enabling all features for 945GM
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=294269 Summary: intel driver not enabling all features for 945GM Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 6 Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 3rd Party Driver AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: casualprogrammer@yahoo.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer On a FSC Amilo Si1520 the intel driver is now ( since alpha6 ) set up with Driver "fbdev" in this ( otherwise stable ) mode resolution is limited to 1024x768 and 800x600, while 3D and multihead are not available. When setting Driver "intel" resolution is available from 1200x800 to 640x480, 3D and multihead also not available ( while the previously reported problems are still there - system freeze on logout with garbled display ). While 3D is nice to have, multihead is a must, as this workstation is used for presentations using Overhead Projector or other external Monitor. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Well, well, is there a way to overcome the limitations ? No. fbdev is a very limited driver.
