http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=494215 User stwagner@openST.de added comment http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=494215#c1 Summary: file system on usb disk is corrupted after installation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: stwagner@openST.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032600 SUSE/3.0.8-1.1 Firefox/3.0.8 During the first boot, after upgrading from openSUSE 11.0, appears in an endless loop with following message: Info fld=0x0 sd 0:0:0:0 [sda] Add. Sense: No additional sense information sd 0:0:0:0 [sda] Sense Key : No Sense [current] It's impossible to get any other information from the just running system. An hard reset is required. An afterwards heavy corrupted ext3 file system is the most annoying part! Some files where beyond repair. The used system is an Dell Latitude D610, where root file system is installed on an external usb disk. I made some tests, after saving rest of my files from disk. It's possible to fix file system and use it without problem under openSUSE 11.0. But each 11.1 (tested with different hardware) corrupts the file system again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install or upgrade openSUSE 11.1 on a external usb disk 2. 3.
