[Bug 398217] New: keyboard hijacked by screen magnifier?
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398217 User steve@kelem.net added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398217#c1 Summary: keyboard hijacked by screen magnifier? Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 3 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: steve@kelem.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer I'm running openSuSE 11.0, beta 3 on a dual-dual x86_64. uname -a reports: Linux mycomputer 2.6.22.17-0.1-xen #1 SMP 2008/02/10 20:01:04 UTC x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux gdm --version reports: GDM 2.20.0 Whenever I type a key, the key is hijacked by some process that cycles through 3 levels of screen zoom, one level per key press, and it doesn't matter which key (other than control-alt-backspace). The problem starts after I log in on the console. Logging in via ssh doesn't trigger the problem, so I ran "ps" before and after. Here is the difference between the two:

I don't see any processes in there that would cause it to zoom. What does the zoom look like? Do you get the upper-left part of the previous zoom level or are things centered? Is it just the resolution changing? Do you get a split-screen zoom? /etc/gdm/modules/ contains files with lists of shortcut keys that run various commands in GDM. Maybe these got messed up somehow? Can you attach /var/log/messages after triggering the bug? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Right now I have the screen saver's login, which doubles, then, on the 2nd key doubles again, then, on the 3rd, goes back to the original magnification.
