[Bug 652823] New: many thing fail I can't even remember
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=652823 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=652823#c0 Summary: many thing fail I can't even remember Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: n5xwb@comcast.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User Blocker: No I will start with basic system problems. My /dev/pausx Logitech mouse is not seen by the system (not X). I replaced the package gpm with a source and that fixed it. In X OpenOffice, Blender, Lives and Amarok all blow up after the boot splash. Google Earth fails also. I feel all of these are a KDE4 klauncher, Dbus problem with sound and/or DRM/nouveau video. I made a script to remove all of ooo3 and then reinstalled it via yast2. It still fails and the BUG report never shows anything but not good information and fails to send it. So many "zypper in" files are showing up with lack of depends. I have been using SuSE 5 or 6 and all openSuSE version and this one has been the biggest headache. RPM doesn't remove old things completely. This has lead to ldconfig building things wrong or programs find the wrong library This is a Athlon-XP with 2 GB and full of NVidia chips. The video is a AGPx8 with a NVidia GeForce 7 board. I sure hope things are fixed in 11.4 3 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Please make one bug report per issue with more detailed/understandable descriptions. For example I don't understand what you mean by "blow up after boot splash". I would really suggest to fill new reports and close this one. I hope that is fine for you. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=652823 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=652823#c2 --- Comment #2 from Donald Donn Washburn <n5xwb@comcast.net> 2010-11-11 20:44:54 UTC --- Well again I will say the mouse after running Yast2>Hardware>mouse to a "IntellaMouse Explorer (ps2)" then /etc/init.d/gpm start as root fails. This is happened on 11.4 M1, 2 and as of right now even on 3. Again my gpm.rpm fixed it again. The mouse in X always worked. At this point I just finished loading 3 fo 6 (for about 30 minutes) I find three things fail. That is gpm. blender and OpenOffice/LibreOffice. Amarok fails to upgrade to MP# (I am aware of the legal problems) from oggs even after following it suggested site for upgrades to mp3. Amarok still after restarting plays only oggs. ~> blender <-Version 2.55 32862 and python3 Illegal instruction -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
