[Bug 804321] New: Installation from Live medium leads to unthemed (unbranded) grub2 and plymouth

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804321 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804321#c0 Summary: Installation from Live medium leads to unthemed (unbranded) grub2 and plymouth Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: coolo@suse.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Installation from GNOME Live medium (build 11.12 from [1]). After installation, both grub2 and plymouth are unbranded, although both grub2-branding-openSUSE and plymouth-branding-openSUSE packages are installed. Forcing a re-installation of these packages (same version, same build) and then restarting system shows grub2 and plymouth in all their themed glory ;) [1] https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=kiwi-image-livecd-gnome.x86_64&project=openSUSE%3A12.3%3ALive Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Bug 775778 has been marked as resolved as it was only about the unthemed GRUB2, an issue which has indeed been solved, however the plymouth boot screen is still unbranded on a system installed from the live image, as of the last build of the GNOME Live image (and I would think with KDE Live too). I am reopening this and requesting for a stopper against this as well. As usual reinstalling plymouth-branding-openSUSE fixes the branding issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
