After installing this package the diacritic still appears shifted. You may want test the latest rebuild. I do not experience problems with hinting for this font, but I didn't test much so far (will give them a try tomorrow). It is badly broken. Which version to choose, if provide both versions or if drop liberation 2.0 entirely in favour of google-croscore-fonts package will evidently be subject matter of bug 788838.
