Hard to say it is feature instead of bug.
I checked "Dynamic adjust the candidates order" and "Sort candidates by: Frequency" options in preferences, but the emoji always come in the first of the list, which is annoying. It should not act like that.
Would you please help to report it to upstream? It should be fixed. (Or "Won't fix", then I will report upstream).
