https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1228415 Bug ID: 1228415 Summary: Error while upgrading zypper on Leap 15.3 and 15.4 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp Assignee: zypp-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: acdoon@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- Dear Support Team, I encountered an issue while upgrading zypper from two different machines on Leap 15.3 and 15.4. The error message I received is as follows: Leap 15.4: ERROR /usr/bin/zypper: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libzypp.so.1734: undefined symbol: _ZN6google8protobuf8internal14UntypedMapBase12TransferTreeEPN4absl12lts_202401169btree_mapINS1_10VariantKeyEPNS1_8NodeBaseESt4lessIS6_ENS1_12MapAllocatorISt4pairIKS6_S8_EEEEEPFS6_S8_E zypper_failed zypper rc=127 Additionally, I demangled the symbol and found the following information: Symbol: google::protobuf::internal::UntypedMapBase::TransferTree(absl::lts_20240116::btree_map<google::protobuf::internal::VariantKey, google::protobuf::internal::NodeBase*, std::less<google::protobuf::internal::VariantKey>, google::protobuf::internal::MapAllocator<std::pair<google::protobuf::internal::VariantKey const, google::protobuf::internal::NodeBase*> > >*, google::protobuf::internal::VariantKey (*)(google::protobuf::internal::NodeBase*)) Another error occurred on Leap 15.3 : with the following message: /usr/bin/zypper: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libzypp.so.1734: undefined symbol: _ZN4YAML6detail9node_data12empty_scalarB5cxx11Ev zypper_failed zypper rc=127 Demangled symbol: Symbol: YAML::detail::node_data::empty_scalarabi:cxx11 two different sets of dependencies are missed when we upgrade zypper on leap15.3 and leap15.4. I cannot install the missing packages independently and require the solution to be fixed in zypper rpm only (due to certain limitations of my upgrade process). Could you please fix them in zypper rpm and let me know in which zypper version will it be fixed.? Thanks Anuj -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
