Does it give any errors? Did your kernel get upgraded as well? Moreover, I run "ps aux|grep compiz" to detect that in process list. it run like:/usr/bin/compiz --sm-client-id default0 gconf. My kernel don't get upgraded, whose version is 2.6.16.13-4-smp.
