Every time I try to bypass one issue it fails at another. Original problem. Selecting the update software from within the KDE notifier fails. Something about unexpected errors and user cancelled installation. Don't recall exact details. Next, run the online software update from within yast. Fails to launch Next, run yast2 from command line this still fails, but displays Run command: /sbin/yast2 online_update & /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base online_update qt /sbin/yast2: line 375: 11683 Illegal instruction $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS Running /sbin/Yyast2 online_update myself gives the same error. Next I edited /sbin/yast2, found line 375 and added an echo line in front of it. Now when I run it I get Run command: /sbin/yast2 online_update & /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base online_update qt /sbin/yast2: line 376: 11683 Illegal instruction $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS That hits my level of incompetence in tracking that down further. BUT.
