[Bug 751803] New: [regression] X doesn't activate display with the latest kernel
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=751803 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=751803#c0 Summary: [regression] X doesn't activate display with the latest kernel Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: thardeck@suse.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com CC: sndirsch@suse.com Found By: Development Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=480949) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=480949) Xorg.0.log with a working 3.1.0 Kernel After installing 12.1 the display is activated and the resolution is native. After installing the updates with the 3.1.9 Kernel the display doesn't get activated anymore although the computer is accessible by ssh. If I reverse the Kernel to the original version the desktop comes up fine again. So it looks like a KMS regression. As a side node the radeon driver isn't used but ffbdev instead. 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Device [1002:9641] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:1633] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 64 bytes Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 18 Region 0: Memory at 80000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] Region 1: I/O ports at 6000 [size=256] Region 2: Memory at 98000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256K] Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled] Capabilities: <access denied> -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
