The command make cloneconfig, makes a clone from the actual Settings. For YaST it would be an interesting feature, similar as make cloneconfig. I wish a funktion. that cloned the YaST configs, and the /etc/sysconfig. Than is it easier to change from one Version to the next. To get a "cloneconfig" of your current settings, install the package autoyast, start it via YaST and have a look into the menubar - somewhere there you should find some entry which sounds like "clone system". If you install a new system, you'll get a checkbox at the end of the installation saying "clone this system for autoyast".
