[Bug 404891] New: Rubbish behind session unlock dialogue
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=404891 Summary: Rubbish behind session unlock dialogue Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: Markus.Elfring@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- The session can be locked when I return to my computer desktop. My surprise is that pixel rubbish of old window contents is displayed from (graphics) memory sometimes while the dialogue "unlock session" (requesting a password) appears. I find such a display strange because the information source is not a screensaver animation. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

unfortunately no.
Thanks for this clarification. Was the behaviour that I reported ever observed in a virtual machine setup to get a screen shot from this environment?
note that there are some screensavers that "garble" the screen display as part of their normal work.
I guess that I can distinguish pixel art animation from old window contents. I have got a similar visual "effect" in an other application area like it is shown in the issue "Display of pixel rubbish during message retrieval". https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418628
which screensaver do you run?
I prefer OpenGL variants like Flux or solar wind. I mostly see them under the KDE 3.5.9 interface.
is it a random screensaver?
No.
does it happen as well with the "blank" screensaver?
I do not know because I did not want to check this specific one so far. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
