[Bug 809095] New: Kmail filters do not work in local folders
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=809095 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=809095#c0 Summary: Kmail filters do not work in local folders Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: stakanov@freenet.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0 Version of KDE 4.9.5 release 4 If you create a local folder, then you create subfolder to this local folder eg. mail from girlfriends, subfolder: Mary, Sheila, Roxane. You then define the filter to transfer the mail from Mary to subfolder Mary, from Sheila to subfolder Sheila etc. Then you define also a filter that says: if the mail is from a girlfriend other then the three, just leave it in the main folder. Then a part of mails will be correctly filed, part will stay in the promiscuous local folder "girlfriends". This is repeatable, but the amount of mail unfiltered varies. The setup that could be the reason is the following. I am using one user-personality for mail and banking. One other for the rest of internet etc. So user 1 (mail) and user 2. While I am shifting users the other user remains blocked. This is a wanted and appreciated behaviour. It seams that, when you log into the mail personality again, the mail is not filtered correctly and once this has started, a lot of other mail is incorrectly filtered. I tried to find a difference of the mails not filtered correctly, but no apparent difference turns up. The filter is set to "if one of the following points is true" so, if both mails are for the same mailing list, one will be correctly filtered, one not, without being there any appreciable differences. Examples of mailing list that are hit by this problem is "opensuseSecurity". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.set up within the local main folder a new folder and give it a name. 2.create sub-directories in this new folder 3.set up a filter for single persons or mailing lists (no difference) and tell the filter to transfer the mail to the corresponding subfolders. A large quantity of mails will not filter correctly but will be deposited in the new local folder that is father to these subfolders. Other mails will be transferred as they should. Actual Results: Mails are filtered somehow random. When accumulating too much they can be filtered manually using select all messages and apply filters. The filters will THEN work correctly. Expected Results: The filters should attribute the mail correctly to the subfolders. Hirarchic level of transfer folder should not matter. What I noticed else (this may be a different bug too, but I do not know. I am using classical view. The threads define in subfolders in the list of mails. So if you filter manually and before you use: select all messages - only the messages in the expanded threads will be selected for manual filtering. The ones of another day or another thread not. You will have to select "expand all threads", then "select all messages" then "apply filter manually" and only then the filter will work manually. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
