I confirm that is not the case with the software manager user interface in openSUSE 11.2. Thanks for testing. Which fonts are still to small?

But I would appreciate to increase the font size a bit more to make the data display better and easier readable. I hope that the need for small font sizes can be reduced on demand. Have you tried changing root's qt font configuration by running qtconfig as user root?
