[Bug 675402] New: Xterm and GNOME Terminal in different categories in Application Window
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=675402 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=675402#c0 Summary: Xterm and GNOME Terminal in different categories in Application Window Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: RC 2 Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rdb@ccb.ac.uk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The launchers for Xterm and GNOME Terminal are in 2 different categories in the GNOME Application window Xterm is listed under System Tools GNOME Terminal is listed under Accessories This seems rather strange given both tools do the same job. I would like to see the Xterm launcher removed - I feel it is redundant. If it is not going to be removed, I think both launchers should be in the same category, I wouldn't mind which. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I've made a to-do item to auto-configure the categories. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

There is also a configure option "--with-desktop-category" which packagers might use to specify exactly the categories needed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Let me know, I'll just modify the spec and use %suse_update_desktop_file for the change, unless if someone has a better idea or different direction. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
