I've tried it with static and ibft configuration for this interface, i also tried "auto" and "nfsroot" as start mode, the interface will not set up. After modification of the configuration i re-created the initrd. /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth2: #BOOTPROTO="ibft" #STARTMODE="nfsroot" BOOTPROTO='static' BROADCAST='' ETHTOOL_OPTIONS='' IPADDR='10.1.7.41/24' MTU='' NAME='82576 Gigabit Network Connection' NETWORK='' REMOTE_IPADDR='' STARTMODE='nfsroot' USERCONTROL='no' PREFIXLEN='24' ifup eth2 shows: eth2 device: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) .. and the interface is still down and has no ip address. Settting up the interface with ifconfig works. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. No, eth2 is "UP", but there is no IP. Also got the timeout in initrd on connecting the secondary interface. Vlans are not used.
Tried with setting static and ibft as BOOTPROTO in ifcfg-eth2.
For ibft interfaces, ifcfg files are ignored in ifup: ibft config is authorative.
