This did not happen again. I now installed ssb.ko and b43.ko from a wholly recompiled opensuse 2.6.34-12 with ssb from stable 2.6.34.2, and the modules are loaded perfectly. I cannot test if it works, though, and b43 hwaddr is different from the one I get with 2.6.35-rc3. Be careful. There is a different bug in 2.6.34.2 in the ssb sources. You should use 2.6.34.3.

I have no idea why 2.6.34.y.git has not been updated. From GregKH's emails, I thought it should also be at 2.6.34.3
