[Bug 434825] New: need to import distutils.log in python setuptools?
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=434825 Summary: need to import distutils.log in python setuptools? Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: skh@novell.com ReportedBy: cfarrell@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: jmatejek@novell.com Found By: --- email exchange between cfarrell and jmatejek (by the way, not sure which component this is supposed to be in - outside legal bugs, I'm completely at a loss ;)
I have a quick question about setuptools in python in 11.0:
When I execute the command python setup.py build --dry-run (or w/o --dry-run) I get the following error
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/setuptools/command/sdist.py", line 98, in entries_finder log.warn("unrecognized .svn/entries format in %s", dirname) NameError: global name 'log' is not defined
If I add: from distutils import log to the top of the file /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/setuptools/command/sdist.py then it works.
Is this expected behaviour? Is it a bug?
Hi, this appears to be a bug - modifying packaged files is definitely not something we want users to do ;e) Please report it in bugzilla. (however, i'm not setuptools maintainer, it is Sonja Krause-Harder's package) regards m. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
