[Bug 891193] New: KDE4 over XDMCP: virt-manager prevents activation of lock screen
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=891193 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=891193#c0 Summary: KDE4 over XDMCP: virt-manager prevents activation of lock screen Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: olafmartens@web.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 When virt-manager has a visible open window of a virtual machine (the graphics console must be visible!) and one attempts to activate the lock screen of an XDMCP session, something seems to inhibit it from activating. Collapse or close the window or switch to another virtual desktop, and the lock screen can be engaged normally. A verification on another machine running a local X server showed no erratic behavior: The lock screen engaged without problems even though the window of a domU was open. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log in to a KDE session via XDMCP. 2. Fire up virt-manager. There MUST be an open and visible window of a domU (the actual graphics display, not the info screen)! 3. Try to lock the screen. Actual Results: The launch menu disappears without the lock screen ever appearing, although "Lock screen" has been selected. Expected Results: The lock screen is supposed to show up regardless of which windows are visible. This problem can easily be worked around by either collapsing or closing all offending windows or by switching to another virtual desktop that doesn't contain anything that interferes with the lock screen. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
