https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219409 ------- Comment #6 from rmyster@gmail.com 2006-11-12 15:25 MST ------- I'll leave this resolved but want to clarify something: On my upgrade from 10.2beta1 to 10.2beta2, the entry in menu.lst only showed the kernel line, not the root line above it or the initrd line below. Reran the installation and chose "boot installed system" to finish the upgrade since it wouldn't boot even from the grub prompt with manual entries. The initrd-2.6.18.2-4-default image was completely missing from the /boot dir and rerunning the boot loader through yast did not create it even though it looked like it was(check next to something like "creating initrd"). Ended up creating it with mkinitrd and adding the lines manually. Is this the same issue fixed by upgrading to yast2-bootloader-2.13.86.rpm? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

The x-mas bootscreen is stil there, and also the timer works. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219409 ------- Comment #11 from stefan.fent@novell.com 2006-12-07 03:36 MST ------- Please open another bug on this, as your problem seems to be unrelated to the original description. And yes, an update from betaX/RC1 to later versions may fail, due to a bug. An update from 10.1 -> 10.2 should work, though. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
