[Bug 925814] New: no x session in gnome 3.16 live-cd
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=925814 Bug ID: 925814 Summary: no x session in gnome 3.16 live-cd Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 201503* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: brainstormtrooper@free.fr QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hi, I wanted to test the latest Gnome live CD, but I con't get an X session. The boot log stops at "reached target graphical interface"... but there never is a graphical interface and I can't get a command prompt of other tty since I don't have a session - so no log files unless I can configure something at boot... This was the case on the previous iso from OPENsuse and it is also the case with the livd-cd from the Gnome website. FWIW I tried the cd in both virtualbox and gnome-boxes. I had tried installing Gnome 3.16 from Gnome:next (zypper dup) and was able to log into a wayland session, but still not X. I'm back to Tumbleweed now. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=925814 --- Comment #1 from Rick Opper <brainstormtrooper@free.fr> --- At the time I used the three Tumbleweed repositories, 13.2 update repo, and GNOME:Next for the zypper dup. Maybe the 13.2 repo caused a problem. I'm using an intel Sandy Bridge graphics card (the ATI card is not used - radeon module is not loaded). Don't know if that helps a little. I also filed a bug with Gnome here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=746850 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Currently gnome-next media logs in to x fine, but sure, there have been countless changes to both TW and GNOME:Next since you had this issue. Sorry for not getting to this bug in time, but GNOME:Next is somewhat "low pri" when it comes to bugs, we expect things to break there from time to time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
