Why I am not so lucky here?
/usr/bin/acroread is a shell script, not the binary. To use gdb you can try the following: 1) start acroread 2) attach gdb to the running acroread with gdb -p $(pidof acroread) 3) reproduce the crash Probably that won’t help much though because of lack of debug information in the binary files. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I attached the debugger to the running process this time where I continued the execution. I could switch to the tab "Fonts" in the dialogue "Document Properties" (Strg+D). But the GUI control "Fonts Used in this Document" remained empty while the status "Gathering font information... (0%)" was displayed. I have got the following details on the command line. And I cannot reproduce it, it works just fine for me and shows the used fonts. Which acroread.rpm are you using exactly? I assume that there is an open issue with (NULL) pointers for message queue buffers in my software release. And I tried on another openSUSE 11.0 machine now which even has the rpm with exactly the same build number and still I cannot reproduce it. The fonts in "PM_mittelalt_Spectaculum08.pdf" are listed without any problem. I am afraid I cannot do anything here but close this as WORKSFORME again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
