Why does openSUSE provide no up-to-date package? Also, openSUSE got rid of HAL but laptop-mode-tools still depends on HAL (for an optional module but packaged together with the core) whereas the current main branch uses kernel features instead of deprecated HAL. What is the rationale for openSUSE 11.4 not shipping an up-to-date package? I fully understand your lack of time, but why a missing need? (openSUSE) Linux is doing really bad concerning power consumption, tools like laptop-mode-tools can greatly enhance battery life...
