I reported this bug to the maintainer who responded <snip> eric 4.2.x needs QScintilla 2.2 or newer. Please upgrade. </snip> current packages eric 4.2.1-2.30-i586 (Factory) python-qscintilla 1.73-103.1 libqscintill2-2 1.73-100.1 I have tried reverting to earlier versions of eric but these are still unable to open files.
