[Bug 680150] New: Strange slow-down behavior after suspend to ram
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=680150 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=680150#c0 Summary: Strange slow-down behavior after suspend to ram Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: marcel@hilzinger.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=419684) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=419684) Error messages after wakeup from s2ram User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b12) Gecko/20110222 Firefox/4.0b12 After wake-up from suspend to ram the machine acts very slowly. I first thougt about a memory leak, but there is enough free memory, top also does not show any processes with heavy CPU usage, so this must be some kernel or maybe x.org related problem. The only info I have so far is from dmesg: irq 16: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option) Mar 14 19:33:41 linux-l3ja kernel: [ 2960.381126] Pid: 0, comm: swapper Tainted: G C 2.6.37.1-1.2-default #1 [...] Disabling IRQ #16 Attached you can find the call trace. I googled for the problem. It seems to appear with intel graphics since 2008 and I've not really found a solution. Most of the bug reports were fixed with newer kernel versions only. I also tried to boot with "irqpoll" but the error remains the same. Ah, maybe one more important info: the system beeps after wakeup from s2ram. It never did this before. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Put opensuse 11.4 to s2ram 2. Wake opensuse 11.4 up 3.Move a window around it will react very slowly Actual Results: The problem also appears with echo mem > /sys/power/state Expected Results: The system should be as fast as before s2ram. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
