There's no doubt that YaST is evil, but it is certainly not responsible for everything. In this particular case, it cannot be blamed for adding this line: 127.0.0.1 linux.site localhost.localdomain localhost to /etc/hosts. From the comments here, it sounds like it's already been solved once, what should NM do when dynamic hostname is enabled and the hostname changes?
