There are no visible errors/warnings. Using Chromium I get the message "Could not load IcedTea-Web Plugin (using IcedTea-Web 1.4.1 (suse-4.22.1-x86_64..." The same site under OpenSUSE 12.2 x86_64, Firefox 25.0, IcedTea-Web Plugin (using IcedTea-Web 1.4.1 (suse-1.25.1-x86_64)) runs as expected. I tried YaST to uninstall/re-install the IcedTea-Web Plugin under OpenSUSE 12.3. This did not change behavior. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Apply all updates (aypper up) to OpenSUSE 12.3 x86_64 2. Start Firefox 26 3. Go to site http://www.whichvoip.com/voip/speed_test/ppspeed.html and notice Java Applet doesn't load. Actual Results: In Firefox 26, empty space where applet diagram should be. In Chromium 31, Gray box with hover message "Couldn't load plug-in" Expected Results: Applet provides a nice graphic display of network test results. The "Update Now" link takes me to a page which says "Java Plugin has been blocked for your protection." https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/p119 I followed another "Update" link on that page and it took me to a Java site to download either an RPM or .tar.gz archive. I tried both and installed each, with no change in behavior. I believe I've followed all threads/links to conclusion and still can't solve this issue by myself. Tested this page on 13.1 with Firefox 27beta works fine. It asks me to confirm the execution which is nowadays the normal behaviour for Java applets but afterwards it just works. The issue appears to be systemic, as opposed to being associated with my user account. I logged in as another new user and the problem persists on this machine. When I follow "update" instructions, this is the result: neptune:/home/install/linux/java # rpm -i jre-7u51-linux-x64.rpm package jre-1.7.0_51-fcs.x86_64 is already installed neptune:/home/install/linux/java # java -version java version "1.6.0_31" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_31-b04) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode) I looked in YaST and don't see any way to uninstall 1.6.0_31 (so 1.7.0_51 might be recognized).
