https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=433890 Summary: Our startmenu shows menue entries for tools that are not available in the system Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: siegfried.olschner@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I don't know if this is a problem with our Gnome startmenu or if this is caused by the use of an appliance build with KIWI. So reassign if it is a STUDIO appliance problem: -- I created a Gnome appliance with the SUSE Studio. Base is the openSUSE 11 with a minimal set of packages. In the startmenu I clicked onto "System Monitor" -> there is no feedback, the system mointor tool is not installed The click onto "Control Center" -> will open the error feedback "Failure loading preferences.menu" It is clear to me that some software is not installed in the appliance and the startmenu items can't work. But the real problem for me is, that the startmenu entries are available. Are they hard coded? The startmenu should display only the appliactions/tools that are available in the system. I don't know if it would make sense to check it during every start but perhaps during the first login of the user? Can we provide such an intelligent startmenu? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
