[Bug 553609] New: system performance degraded after recent update
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=553609 Summary: system performance degraded after recent update Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ruchir.brahmbhatt@ecosmob.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.229.0 Safari/532.4 I've been using opensuse 11.2 rc2 fine since couple of days. But I noticed that after recent updated packages, the system performance has degraded. System sometimes becomes sluggish. Specially when we select lots of cells or may be one column in openoffice, system becomes terribly slow. Also it seems to consume more cpu and ram since last upgrade. I have up to date packages from following repos. http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/Factory/openSUSE_Factory/ http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/43/openSUSE_11.2/ http://packman.unixheads.com/suse/11.2 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:Factory:Contrib/standard http://download.opensuse.org/debug/distribution/11.2/repo/oss/ http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/non-oss/ http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/oss/ http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.2/ I know this bug report seems bit ambiguous. Please let me know which specific details should I provide. Must have come after an update. It does exist on all my computers, 32bits as 64 and with Intel, VIA and AMD cpus. Is this the same or should it be a new bug report? The .xsession-errors shows the following: ... kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/bin/firefox *** nss-shared-helper: Shared database disabled (set NSS_USE_SHARED_DB to enable). -- https://readitlaterlist.com/v2/get since=XXXXX&tags=1&positions=1&apikey=XXXXXXX&username=XXXXXXXXX&password=XXXXXXXX ( I have removed my login info ) -- rebuildIindex (npviewer.bin:7554): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead (npviewer.bin:7554): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead .. and then followed by thousands of lines of the same. You can also see this after say 2000 lines. ...
