[Bug 933421] New: python-pygit2 / cffi uses gcc at runtime
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=933421 Bug ID: 933421 Summary: python-pygit2 / cffi uses gcc at runtime Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 201505* Hardware: Other OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: mcihar@suse.com Reporter: bwiedemann@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de CC: aspiers@suse.com, benoit.monin@gmx.fr, dleuenberger@novell.com Found By: Development Blocker: --- I tried to get https://github.com/aspiers/git-deps working on Factory on 13.2 this was working without gcc using: python-pycparser|2.10-4.1.4 libgit2-21|0.21.5-2.3.1 python-cffi|0.8.6-2.1.5 python-pygit2|0.21.2-1.5 but it was broken on Factory: python-pycparser|2.12-1.1 libgit2-22|0.22.1-1.1 python-cffi|0.9.2-1.1 python-pygit2|0.22.0-1.1 on Factory it requires python-devel python-pygit2 at runtime to compile a new /usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/pygit2/__pycache__/pygit2_cffi_93ecb84x5470904.so (and then it worked, but we do not really want devel stuff for users) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

So the new python-cffi landed in Factory, but git-deps / python-pygit2 still does not work, because it is still the old one with Build Date : 2015-02-05T10
it already has an explicit BuildRequires: python-cffi
so how does one trigger a rebuild of it
One asks for it, if the deps are not clearly specified. But as wejust switched to CC5 as default compiler, the entire TW tree is being rebuilt anyway, so this should be fine in any snapshot > 20150616
and best make sure that it automatically happens in the future for everything that BuildRequires python-cffi
Unlikely to happen -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
