iw reg set [ISO COUNTRY CODE]

eg

iw reg set DE

It's also possible setting it in the wpa_supplicant.conf In both cases with both SLE 12 SP2 for Pi3 and Leap 42.2 this doesn't work at all, which is somewhat problematic in the rest of the world outside of the USA where those channels are quite often used dmesg is reporting the following errors which may or may not be related

Modifying /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac43430-sdio-raspberrypi3b.txt so that

ccode=ALL

is changed to

ccode=DE

Seems to resolve the situation and enable the missing channels for Germany, HOWEVER dmesg still moans about

[ 11.335994] brcmfmac: brcmf_cfg80211_reg_notifier: not a ISO3166 code
