[Bug 1224202] New: [Build 20240513] upgrade issues due to tuned newly conflicting with tlp/popwer-profiles-daemon
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1224202 Bug ID: 1224202 Summary: [Build 20240513] upgrade issues due to tuned newly conflicting with tlp/popwer-profiles-daemon Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other URL: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/4185948/modules/zdup /steps/12 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: dimstar@opensuse.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: openQA Blocker: Yes ## Observation tuned has introduced conflicts on tlp and power-profiles-daemon, as the services do not allow to run in parallel. This though exposes an issue that would need to be 'solved' by every single user, as the layered patterns pulled in: * patterns-base recommends tuned * patterns-mobile recommends tlp * gnome/kde recommend power-profiles-daemon This mans basically everybody has at least tuned and p-p-d installed in their system. Adding a conflict now will result in every user getting a request to 'pick' which one to use; It seems like even though the conflict is not technically wrong, it also does not solve anything but only adds issues openQA test in scenario opensuse-Tumbleweed-NET-x86_64-zdup_tw2twnext_gnome@64bit-3G fails in [zdup](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/4185948/modules/zdup/steps/12) ## Test suite description EXCLUDE_MODULES=opensuse_welcome added as it is required for non TW zdup ## Reproducible Fails since (at least) Build [20240513](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/4185948) (current job) ## Expected result Last good: [20240512](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/4182629) (or more recent) ## Further details Always latest result in this scenario: [latest](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/latest?arch=x86_64&distri=opensuse&flavor=NET&machine=64bit-3G&test=zdup_tw2twnext_gnome&version=Tumbleweed) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
