[Bug 737512] New: keyscript option in /etc/crypttab is not working
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=737512 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=737512#c0 Summary: keyscript option in /etc/crypttab is not working Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fishdude@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=467964) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=467964) patch for /lib/cryptsetup/boot.crypto.functions fixing the problem User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.34 (KHTML, like Gecko) konqueror/4.7.4 Safari/534.34 Passing a key via the keyscript option in /etc/crypttab fails reading the key properly. the problem resides in /lib/cryptsetup/boot.crypto.functions where the key being read from stdin is not passed properly to /sbin/cryptsetup. in fact the call to /sbin/cryptsetup is missing the parameters to read from stdin. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a script reading a key and passing it to stdout 2. modify /etc/crypttab by adding keyscript='script' for a crypt-device 3. mount the crypt-device with /etc/init.d/boot.crypto start <device> Actual Results: the crypt-device is not mounted because the key is not accepted Expected Results: the crypt-device should be mounted the chance is very high that this problem exists in several opensuse versions for multiple platforms -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Long time no response. So closed.Feel free to reopen it.Thanks.
I'm afraid you misunderstood the "NORESPONSE" resolution. It should only be used if the bugreporter fails to provide additionally requested information which makes it impossible to fix the bug. Typically this applies to a bug that was in NEEDINFO state for months. It is NOT meant for bugreports like this one which are not yet assigned to the correct package maintainer. For those bugreports, you have to - find out to which package they belong (which is quite easy in this case - rpm -qf'ing the filenames mentioned above give a clear hint to "cryptsetup".) - find out the maintainer of this package with osc maintainer openSUSE:Factory cryptsetup - reassign the bugreport to this person If you are unable to do this for whatever reason, please at least stop closing those reports with "NORESPONSE". And please go through the other bugreports you closed with NORESPONSE just because nobody moved them away from the screening team, reopen them and assign them to the package maintainer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
