Also I could not mount it since it said that the device did not exist. So I booted the DVD again, installed over the network :-)After installation no DVD drive was found so I cannot use it :-( Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot the machine or try to install 2. 3. If I insert the CDROM/DVD it shoudl accellerate and be shown in the notifier applet. It does not appear in the messages log when I insert the CDROM/DVD. Normally it would send a lot of messages about something detected, trying to mount etc... but nothing happens. Remember this is not isolated to the installation. It is simply a question of Linux not detecting my CDROM/DVD drive. Therefore hwinfo --cdrom > hwinfo.txt returns nothing Hardware specs MUST be included in my attachment? The CAPS LOCK and Scroll Lock are enabled each time I boot. Then if I press CAPS LOCK twice they are turned off.
