https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=441998 User qwilson1843@yahoo.com added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=441998#c1 Summary: headphone jack stopped working - IRQ timing workaround Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: qwilson1843@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer After updating openSuSE 10.3 kernel from 2.6.22.10-0.2-default to 2.6.22.19-0.1-default all sound stopped working. Updated to latest alsa drivers and now the speakers work but headphone jack does not. Computer is a dell d820 with 82801g (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller which is using the snd-hda-intel driver. In lieu of the built in jack working I added a usb headset which works and the speakers work. Here is the /etc/modprode.d/sound contents. # u1Nb.Md5aHihV0PD:82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller alias snd-card-1 snd-hda-intel # uniq.unknown_key:USB Audio alias snd-card-0 snd-usb-audio options snd-hda-intel enable=1 index=1 model=dell-m22 position_fix=1 options snd-usb-audio enable=1 index=0 With the current configuration I also get the following error: kernel: hda-intel: IRQ timing workaround is activated for card #1. Suggest a bigger bdl_pos_adj. I have tried increasing the bdl_pos_adj but it did not seem to help. Here are the current rpms for alsa: # rpm -qa | grep alsa alsa-oss-1.0.17.git20080715-2.12 alsa-utils-1.0.18.git20081031-2.1 alsa-1.0.18.git20081030-1.1 alsa-plugins-1.0.17.git20081028-1.1 alsa-tools-1.0.18.git20081030-1.1 alsa-driver-kmp-default-1.0.18.20081105_2.6.22.19_0.1-1.1 alsa-firmware-1.0.17.git20080617-2.1 Here is the kernel info: # uname -a Linux dual-dog 2.6.22.19-0.1-default #1 SMP 2008-10-14 22:17:43 +0200 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I have tried rolling back the alsa to what is on the 10.3 dvd but then no sound works until I update the alsa. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
