[Bug 464129] New: OpenSuse doesn' t playback rmvb files after installing w32codecs-all
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=464129 Summary: OpenSuse doesn't playback rmvb files after installing w32codecs-all Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mukenio_argentino@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User I don't know if this is a bug, may be a detail. After a clean install of opensuse, I install smplayer, w32codecs-all, kaffeine but i could not be able to playback rmvb files. I don't like realplayer, so I didn't install it. Looking at mplayer log file I realize that mplayer looks for codec in /usr/lib/realplayer10/codecs. So what I did was this: As root: md /usr/lib/RealPlayer10 ln -s /usr/lib/codecs /usr/lib/RealPlayer10/codecs And worked. That's all. Starting with openSUSE 11.1, RealPlayer is not part of openSUSE as well. => Novell cannot do anything with your problem. RealNetworks cannot do anything with your problem as well (restricted access: bug 171186). => You can try to contact people who packaged w32codecs-all package and propose this solution to them. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

With RealPlayer installed, it will use them as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
