I am just trying to work out why fvwm2 is installed (especially why it has to be gotten during the second stage of install, while YaST is halfway through configuration and quite obviously does not need it, and Xfce does not need it..) The intention was to use a full Xfce desktop through VNC (and actually to install Xrdp too) so picking fvwm2 out for some reason was just confusing. The code doing it goes back to the times of SLES8 when KDE and fvwm2 were the only available windowmanagers on the platform. So logically, if one did not have KDE, YaST suggested to install fvwm2. The code has been adapted to be KDE4-aware (see bug #381708), but it is not perfect, because it does not take GNOME, icewm, Windowmaker,... into account. Unfortunately, not all windowmanager packages have 'windowmanager' string in their RPM Provides: e.g. kdebase3 has it, while your Xfce does not.
