[Bug 854560] New: Yast does not honor list of tabooed packages and suddenly turns them into a list of packages to be installed in automatic
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=854560 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=854560#c0 Summary: Yast does not honor list of tabooed packages and suddenly turns them into a list of packages to be installed in automatic Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: yast2-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: stakanov@freenet.de QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 I tabooed several packages (besides others all "remote" packages", avahi (do not use it) and samba (do not use and need it). This gives a list of tabooed packages of about 30 rpm-s. Works perfectly fine over several updates. Then, suddenly, I find that yast "forgets" all taboo indications and sets all tabooed packages to "automatically installed". I can then select: all in this list "never install" and the situation turns normal. And will hold for again....nobody knows how long. You can simply never trust taboo settings. I can give you any other indication because there does not seem a "trigger" that forces that, at least I do not see it. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.you taboo packages 2.taboo will be respected for some time 3.suddenly the entire taboo list will be turned into forced installation Actual Results: all tabooed packaged will be set to forced install, sometimes the taboo will vanish and then only in a second time, if you do not find out, all packages will be set to forced install. Expected Results: All tabooed packages should be respected as never install. If I do not want, need software it should never be installed without my agreement. 13.1 opensuse default install with packmanrepos 64 bit -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It might be that this is connected with updates from the packman repo? (yesterday I did one of 42 new updates, then when checking this morning all packages where set to "installable", no taboos set and about 20 packages to be installed (especially the by me tabooed avahi, samba and all remote admin packages...). This was all done with yast in gui, not zypper, not apper which is running, but was not used for update, just as "sentinel" for new fixes. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

There is no indication for a libzypp error. Locks are read, applied and always visible to the resolver. There is e.g. not a single solver run without avahi being in locked state. This error means that package libqdialogsolver1 is not installed on the system. This plug-in's purpose is to visualize package dependencies. Thus, the error messages above are not related to this bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In relation to this: there have been packman updates today and the kde update 4.11.4 yesterday. After the KDE one the situation seemed to be still normal. I installed the packman ones with apper this morning and then (probably not correlated) encountered the bug as of above - ....which led me to uninstall polyester through yast. When setting polyester for uninstall, all taboos where suddenly gone and I had to set the selected packages to be tabooed again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
