I was able to install Suse by parallel install of Ubuntu which provides a working GRUB that starts openSuse. When trying to mount a HFS+ partition using hfsplusutils the mount command aborts with a segmentation fault, saying that there is no hfs+ device After restarting the complete system is messed up. It is not possible to boot into Linux, nor MacOS since Refit does not start anymore. The repair service was able to recover the HFS+ volume. But they anounced that it is impossible with usual Mac tools to do so. The interesting thing is that hpmount even destroys the volumes if it tries to access a HFS+ partition on an external harddisk. I believe this behaviour is connected to the fact that openSuse does not know anything about the partition layout of Macintosh systems (though other linux distributitions like fedora, ubuntu do): o I can not install GRUB o can not perform a kernel update (because it can not edit existing GRUB menus) o can not WRITE access HFS+ partitions (readonly works!) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
